3D Art kicked off the second semester by creating elaborate ceramic designs using clay and surface techniques. Students began the semester by crafting a coffee mug or tea cup, incorporating underglaze to create unique surface designs. Later in the month, they used slabs shaped with different forms to build more dynamic bases for their pieces. Each student created a set of three works that shared a consistent color palette or design theme.
3D Art student Kiley Rogers said, “I loved this project because it allowed me to make things for my family and classmates. Designing it from the beginning and watching it transform throughout the process was really rewarding.”
Art teacher Mrs. Ramberg shared, “I think the students really enjoyed this project. They loved exploring ideas on Etsy and Pinterest and then bringing their own creativity into their work. It’s exciting to see them start with a pile of clay and transform it into something completely their own.”
