The RVHS Art Foundations class is exploring the creative world of tape sculptures. Students worked in groups of three, with one student serving as the model to be wrapped. Mrs. Ramberg encouraged them to experiment with different arm and leg positions to create dynamic poses.
The process began by wrapping each limb in plastic wrap, followed by a layer of shipping tape for a sturdier exterior. Once fully taped, students carefully cut the forms off, filled them with paper, and reassembled the limbs by taping them back together.
Senior, Sydney Moss shared, “I was unsure about the project at first, but it ended up being really fun, and it was cool to see it actually hung up.”
Some students tried displaying their sculptures on the walls, but the school walls weren’t strong enough to hold them. Currently, only one sculpture is on display above the school coffee shop.
Sophomore, Jace Johnson added, “The shipping tape sculptures were really fun. My friends and I had a blast taping each other and creating art out of body parts.”
