ZOOLOGY

Students in Mrs. Swank’s Zoology class are currently studying invertebrates and focusing on the mollusk unit. As part of their learning, students researched various species within this group and then had the opportunity to dissect both a squid and an octopus.

“It’s a fun dissection that allows students to get a hands-on look at what a few mollusks actually look like—especially since many Kansas students have never seen one in person before,” said Mrs. Swank. “The students especially enjoy seeing the beak and ink sac inside the octopus. They’re such fascinating animals, and I love helping students learn more about them.”
