For the month of October, Mrs. Boucher and Ms. Stilwell will focus their Social Emotional Lessons with RVES students on healthy decision-making, in preparation for Red Ribbon Week!
Last week, in Mrs. Smith's Kindergarten class, students discussed healthy foods and drinks and learned what to do if they find an open piece of candy during Halloween. To check their understanding, they participated in a thumbs-up/thumbs-down activity. To wrap up the lesson, Mrs. Boucher read Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin. Together as a class, they discussed how everyone is unique and that our differences are what make us special. To celebrate this idea, the students will be creating their own unique pumpkins in a variety of shapes and sizes for a Kindergarten Pumpkin Patch display.
