On May 12th and May 13th during seminar, the choir and vocalists hosted a special event called the Vocal Pops Concert. They invited students, who aren’t currently in a vocal class, to join in on a song and take part in a recording performance.
Vocal teacher Mrs. Childs said she decided to try the event because “I wanted it to be kind of like a recruiting event. The choir kids could bring their friends and they all sang together.” Besides the vocal students, about 11 non-choir students participated.
One of the songs they sang was “Happy” by Pharell Williams. Junior vocal student Trystan Murata said, “It was cool being able to sing with all my friends.”
