Our 7th and 8th graders in Mrs. Del Toro's history classroom have been incredibly busy bringing world geography to life. Through the Hands-On World Geography elective, our students build upon their ancient history knowledge to see how past and present events shape cultures and environments across the globe.
Over the past month, our students embarked on a virtual journey through Australia and Europe. Highlights from their studies include:
Global Discoveries: Learning about Australia's Pink Bay, venomous male platypuses, and the origins of kiwi fruit versus the kiwi bird.

Creative Connections: Crafting Northern Lights chalk art during their Nordic studies and exploring the history of pysanka eggs in Ukraine.

Interactive Learning: Maintaining Interactive Geography Notebooks, practicing daily map work, listening to authentic regional music, and watching National Geographic clips.

Student Presentations: Researching and sharing insights on local languages, physical landforms, and cultural traditions.

Aligned with National Geography Standards, this course helps our students better understand spatial patterns, diverse cultures, and our shared global environment. We are so proud of the curiosity and Panther Pride displayed by Mrs. Del Toro's students as they grow into informed global citizens!
