Schedule: -Implement checks begin at 12:30 PM in the track shed (south of the home bleachers)

-Javelin (boys) & pole vault (girls) start time: 1:30 PM

-Start time of the other field events: 2 PM

-Running finals: 30 minutes after the prelims

Field event workers will be at their events 30 minutes prior to the event start times for warmups.

Camps: Do not set up camps in the bleachers on either side of the stadium; we want to save those areas for spectators. There are enough grassy areas around the stadium that teams should have room for camps in those.

Facilities: All weather track. Jump runways and jump pads are rubberized surfaces. Please wear no more than 1⁄4” spikes on any rubberized surface. Discus and shot put rings are concrete. The javelin runway is rubberized and cleats will not be allowed. Restrooms are available on site. Please arrive dressed and ready to compete.

Scoring: Points shall be awarded to winners of the first seven places in each event: 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1. The top three places in each event will earn medals. The top two boys and girls teams will earn plaques.

The new qualifying procedure for state is due to the ninth lane being added at WSU for state. Executive Board policy states the top three in each event automatically qualify for the state meet.

In addition to the automatic qualifiers, there are six more at large qualifiers. Only four at large qualifiers can come from the same regional. Eighth place finishers at a regional will not make it to state even if they are the fifth best at large.

Eight will advance to finals in field events except for pole vault and high jump where there is no traditional final such as the other field events.

The number of lanes all the way around your track determines the number of finalists for track events run in lanes. – KSHSAA
