This year’s prom was held at the beautiful Kay McFarland Japanese Garden, with a red carpet entrance beginning at 6:45 p.m. The tropical theme set the tone for the evening, as guests were welcomed at the door with Hawaiian leis. Tables were decorated with seashells, tying everything together and creating a fun, beachy atmosphere for the night.
Our DJ for the evening was Jay Diamond. In addition to his role as a school custodian, he has been our trusted DJ for years. He kept the dance floor full all night and made the experience even more enjoyable by taking song requests from students and creating an upbeat, personalized playlist.
Addilyn Lefferd shared, “I went to prom all four years, and each year was such a buildup. I always got my dress super early because I was so excited. I loved planning out my day hour by hour. I’m so grateful it was held at the zoo again because it was my favorite venue.”
Following prom, students attended After Prom at Great Play, where they enjoyed a variety of activities including swimming, indoor mini golf, laser tag, arcade games, the walking/running track, and table games. The After Prom committee also provided food and drinks, ensuring students had a fun, safe, and memorable way to end the night.
