On Wednesday, February 4th, Royal Valley FFA brought two teams, an A Team and a B Team to compete in the Northern District Meat Judging Contest.
The A Team included Xander Harding, Makenna Tyler, Bryson Lux, and Alaina Bausch, earning a 12th place finish overall. Xander Harding was the team’s high individual scorer of the day, placing 34th in the A Division.
The B Team, made up of Jace Johnson, Bryson Bayless, Kenadee Henry, and Autumn Force, finished 11th in their division.
Reflecting on the experience, Kenadee Henry shared:
“It was my first time meat judging, and I thought it was really cool because we got to go into a cooler and see the meat. It was hard, but I learned a lot.”
With 170 competitors in the Northern District, Royal Valley FFA brought a young team, many of whom were competing in meat judging for the very first time.
