On Friday, January 30th, Royal Valley High School celebrated the King & Queen of Courts with a full day of special events and a crowning ceremony. The candidates began their morning by enjoying breakfast together at The Big Biscuit in Topeka before returning to the high school for an assembly held during seminar.
During the assembly, each candidate was recognized through a video featuring baby photos alongside recent pictures, followed by a heartfelt letter from their parents or guardians that was shared with the entire student body. If you would like to watch the video that was made, you can click the link below.
Thank you to Mr. DiLeonardo's Audio Video students, Sofie Liggatt and Griffin Cumpton, for making this video!
The celebration continued with a fun activity as candidates and their partners competed in a lively game of blindfolded Pictionary, racing to draw one of their teachers while their partner guessed who it was.
The festivities concluded that evening with the Crowning Ceremony, which took place during halftime of the boys’ varsity basketball game.
Congratulations to Mason Pahmahmie and Ki-Bo Throssell, who were crowned King and Queen of Courts!
Last year’s RVHS King & Queen, Matthew Buskirk and Trulee Jim, along with the Crown Bearers, RVES Kindergarten students Maverick and Zoey, had the honor of helping crown this year’s winners!
