Green Out

On Friday, December 5th, Ms. Douglas, the Royal Valley Middle School Counselor, and Mrs. Alley, the Jackson Heights High School Counselor, organized a Green Out event to promote Mental Health Awareness during the high school basketball games. Both counselors are active members of Together 4 Tomorrow (T4T), a community coalition dedicated to raising mental health awareness, supporting mental wellness, and preventing suicide.

Several mental health professionals from the community hosted booths, shared resources, and provided amazing prizes for attendees. The JH FFA also joined in by making green cotton candy for community members who participated in mental health activities and questions.

It was a powerful night of awareness, support, and community spirit!

We greatly appreciate the following individuals for coming to this event to speak to our community members:

  • Psychological Health Services – Keri Bausch and Mark Ireland

  • Holton Hospital – Chelsea Shupe

  • Kanza – Anne Elifrits and Krista Eylar

  • Community Healthcare Systems, Inc – Krista Childs

  • First Baptist Church – Connor Gooderl
