During the week of November 17th, the RVHS FCCLA, JAG-K, and FCS Department worked hard to prepare a free meal in partnership with Kids Feeding Kids. This grant made it possible to give away free meals to the community. Each meal included a container of chicken fried rice and a cake mix kit.
Mrs. Litherland’s Intro to FACS students assembled 165 containers of chicken fried rice. After the free meal was advertised on the district’s Facebook page, sign-ups began coming in right away. Additionally, every individual attending the Senior Citizen Lunch on Friday, November 21st, will also take home a container of chicken fried rice.
JAG-K held a seminar competition at RVHS to collect cake mixes, frosting, and canned pop, gathering more than 72 cake mixes in total. After collecting all the necessary ingredients, JAG-K students assembled the cake kits, which included a 9x13 tin pan, cake mix, frosting, and a canned pop.
