Veterans Day Lunch & Assembly

The halls of Royal Valley Middle School were filled with gratitude and patriotism last Friday, November 7th, as we hosted our annual Veterans Day Celebration.  It was an incredible honor to welcome our local heroes and their families for this special event dedicated to recognizing their service and sacrifice.

We extend our deepest thanks to every veteran and family member who attended. Your presence made the celebration truly meaningful. It is so important that our students understand the commitment and bravery of those who have served, and your willingness to share this day with us is the greatest lesson of all.

The ceremony was marked by several moving contributions that were a highlight of the day:

Our sincere appreciation goes to the We-Ta-Se Color Guard for their powerful and respectful presentation of the Colors, followed by everyone saying the Pledge of Allegiance.  This set a solemn and patriotic tone for the entire event.

Next, the RVMS Band, under the direction of Mrs. Kimble, led us in our National Anthem. Additionally, Mrs. Childs guided our 5th and 6th-grade students in a beautiful medley of patriotic songs.

A huge thank you to Adjutant Tim Unrein of the Holton VFW for delivering a truly motivating and inspiring speech. His words resonated deeply with everyone in attendance.

This heartwarming event would not have been possible without the dedication and effort of so many people. We are immensely grateful for the teamwork displayed across our school community:

Thank you to our RVMS Kitchen staff, led by Baily Parker and Lindsey Bailey, for preparing the wonderfully delicious meal that was enjoyed by all.

Our RVMS STUCO members demonstrated fantastic leadership by taking charge in serving lunch to the Veterans and their families with respect and enthusiasm.

A special shout-out to Cory Triplett and his art students for their creativity and dedication in creating the amazing poppy paintings gifted to our Veterans.

Our custodians and office staff ensured the event ran smoothly with their support.

We thank all of our students and staff for their respectful participation and support.

The annual Veterans Day Celebration is an expression of the respect and admiration the Royal Valley Middle School community holds for our Veterans. Thank you, once again, to everyone who helped us make this year's celebration a success in honoring those who have protected our freedoms.

We look forward to continuing this important tradition next year!

Please mark your calendars for Friday, November 6th!
