If you got a chance to walk into the library this week, you would've noticed an addition. Cyrus Harding made a Day of the Dead altar. This was not a school project; he volunteered to do it for Dia de los Muertos. Also known as Day of the Dead, it is a Mexican holiday celebrated on November 1st and 2nd to remember loved ones who have passed away.
Profe Temple, the Spanish teacher at the high school, and Cyrus had discussed doing this last year, but ran out of time. They were happy to be able to execute it this year.
"I appreciate Cyrus taking the time to set up this important Day of the Dead tradition here at Royal Valley so we can appreciate it," said Profe Temple.
