We transport about five hundred students every day in vans and school buses in the morning and again after school. I would like to thank all the Royal Valley Drivers for their dedication to safely transporting every child that is on their bus.
Royal Valley Drivers do a lot of training every year that is focused on safety. We have a monthly driver meeting where we discuss different bus safety topics. Some of those topics include bus evacuation, use of bus mirrors, safety zone around the bus, what to do in severe weather, safe driving in snow and ice and many others.
Drivers also conduct Bus Evacuations in the Fall and Spring Semesters to teach students what to do in an emergency and how to evacuate a bus quickly and safely.
Drivers check their bus every day before routes and trips to ensure the bus is in safe working order. They help in maintaining their routes so that we can run them as efficiently as possible to get the students to and from all their school activities. There are many more things that drivers do that are all focused on the safe transportation of students for Royal Valley.
The safe transportation of students is a partnership between drivers and parents. During this week of Bus Safety Awareness, please take some time to review some of the following pages with your children.
Thank you to the Royal Valley drivers and community for your dedication to transporting our students safely to and from school activities.
