On Tuesday, September 23rd, members of the Holton, Jackson Heights, and Royal Valley JCYC/SAFE groups came together to plan activities for the upcoming school year.
The students decided to focus on four key areas:
Red Ribbon Week – making healthy choices
Mental Health Awareness – taking care of your mind and body
Vaping Awareness – understanding the harmful effects of vaping
Traffic Safety – stressing the importance of not texting while driving and always wearing seatbelts
In addition, the groups reviewed Jackson County Communities That Care data and brainstormed potential guest speakers to visit all three schools later this year.
Senior Addie Lefferd shared, “I thought it was a really productive meeting overall. It was nice to work together with the two other Jackson County schools. We got a lot planned for the school year and that's a great feeling."
