On Saturday, May 4, the forensics team went to Maize High School for State. Samantha Hoaward received a 1 rating in poetry and Arwyn Faulkner received a 1 rating in prose.
Samantha Howard shared ,"I was basically reading to this lady in a room. The judge basically told me to slow down but she liked my piece. There's a 4, 3, 2, 1 rating you can get. The 1 rating is means like wow here's a medal and the 4 is the lowest."
Arwyn Faulkner mentioned " I was nervous but I tried to hide it behind my piece. There was only one judge for state festival and she said I did a great job and that my piece matched me. I hope to go to state champs next year, which is the harder version of state festival."
