Covid-19 prevented the Royal Valley community from enjoying concerts this spring, but the virus couldn't squash the talent on display Friday night during the "Masked Singer" contest. A combination of nine students and staff members submitted their songs while hiding behind costumes and the panel of judges, along with a few other guests, did their best to reveal the singers' identities.
The judges were Mrs. Jennings, Mrs. Hundley, Mrs. Switzky and Addilyn Lefferd. The host of the show was Maggie Davis, who provided some clues if the judges and audience were stumped.
The judges did a good job figuring out Ms. Douglas singing "Ice Ice Baby" as a cat, "Someone Like You" by Mrs. Kahle as a French fry, "True Colors" by Mrs. Kimble as a hamster, "I Just Can't Wait to be King" by Mrs. Gilbert masked as a lion, "Bruises" by Maggie Davis as a mouse and "Home" my Reagan Holte as a sloth. The singers who stumped the judges were Addilyn Lefferd singing "Giants in the Sky" as an alien, Mr. Broxterman singing "Hey There Delilah" as a cookie and "Tin Man" by Cheyenne Hittle as a llama!
Thanks to Mrs. Kahle for organizing this event and for all the judges and audience members!
