Mr. Triplett's advanced art class created three amazing murals for the sixth grade hallway!
Triplett explained, "The idea of creating murals for the 6th grade hallways was suggested by Mrs. Bausch. She thought that each of the sixth grade teachers should have her own mural depicting the core subjects (math, history and science)."
The 7-8 grade advanced art class received a generous grant from the Prairie Band Potawatomi Charitable Contributions to purchase the needed supplies.
Triplett went on to explain the details of the project. "With a list of suggestions provided by each of the 6th grade teachers, each student developed their own idea for each mural. Then, students paired up to combine ideas, if possible. Finally, students were put into groups to share, combine, and modify all ideas. Each group
developed may ideas until they ended up with their final drafts. Students'
images were enlarged with the copy machine, traced onto primed Masonite
boards, and painted with acrylic paints. Each group worked off and on
for several months painting these beautiful murals."
