Biographical Information I grew up in northern Minnesota on a farm in a small rural community. My grandmother was a teacher and my inspiration for becoming an educator. My first teaching position was at JFK Middle School in Gallup, NM in 1991. In 1995 we moved to Kansas, where I began my second teaching position at Dover Elementary. After I finished my school counseling degree in 2002 I began working for Royal Valley school district. I reside in Topeka with my husband Dan, who is also an educator. We have a daughter attending Washburn University and our son is a K-state graduate living in Cottage Grove, MN.

Talk to your child about bullying, and how they can make a difference by the choices they make and how they treat those around them. Together we can strive for a bully-free school.
