The school nurse would like to remind all patrons of the Kansas Immunization Requirements. Depending on the birth date, 5th and 6th grade students are recommended to get a booster TDaP, as it is state required, by 7th grade. Nurse Amy encourages everyone to get a flu shot. Also encouraged but not required are HPV & Meningoconnal vaccines, starting at age 11. Let's stay healthy.
Health Record Requirements
Kansas law requires the collection of Birth certificate, immunization records, and results of a health assessment/physical for all students under the age of 9 years who are entering a Kansas school for the first time. Items must be received within 90 days from the time of enrollment. The School Nurse will be auditing charts soon & will send out reminder notes.
