League Cross Country Results

The weather cooperated for the Big 7 League Cross Country meet Thursday. After almost a week of rainy conditions, the sky cleared for the races that Riverside High School hosted  at Rosecrans Airport near St. Joseph, MO. It was a great day for the Panthers as 18 runners achieved a personal best time!  Those will be designated with (PR) beside their name. One runner had a season best time, which will be shown as (SB) next to the name.

In the varsity boys race, Nue Tinajero (PR) placed 2nd with a time of 16:53.32 which is also a Royal Valley school record! Devon Hale (PR) finished in 24th with a time of 18:08.34. Nahcs Wahwassuck (PR) placed 28th with a time of 18:22.12. Three RV runners crossed together in 32nd, 33rd and 34th places. Holden Mundy (PR) had a time of 18:44.47. Calvin Ogden (PR) finished in 18:48.71 and Stiles Travis (PR) in 18:51.13. Judson Mathis (PR) took 39th with a time of 19:29.5.

In the girls varsity race, Chloe Richter (PR) finished in 13th place in 21:24.47 which set a new Royal Valley High School record! Lily Cannon (PR) finished in 16th place with a time of 21:50.41. Kaylee Klem-Andrews (PR) finished in 28th at 23:26.46. Emily Albright placed (PR) 32nd with a time of 23:52.53 and Kiikto Thomas (SB) came in 35th at 24:30.38.

In the JV girls race, Mae Joslin (PR) came in 4th with a time of 22:38.53. Hayley Harman (PR) finished 12th in 26:19.11. Elise Cartolano (PR) finished 16th with a time of 29:58.5 and Stella Rector (PR) came in 17th with a time of 29:58.62.

In the JV boys race, Jack Wiedmann (PR) finished 13th with a time of 19:50.34. Christian McAlister (PR) was right on his heels in 14th at 19:51.3. Antonio Greemore-Hopkins (PR) finished 22nd at 20:03.7. Isaac Hale (PR) finished 26th at 20:31.99. Mason Thomas (PR) came in 32nd with a time of 21:22.53. Preston Torres (PR) came in 39th at 22:52.59. Jase Preston (PR) finished 45th with a time of 24:24.24. KJ Miller (PR) finished 47th at 24:36.85.

Coach Smith remarked, "The course was fast, and we took advantage of it for sure. Eleven boys and 6 girls have now achieved the time to receive varsity letters. It was a good day for XC and a great day to be a Panther!"
