Mayetta Pioneer Days
The 26th annual Mayetta Pioneer Days is Saturday, September 15. Roy Hale and Maxine Catron are the Prairie Band Potawatomi Elder King and Queen for the parade which begins at 3 pm. There will be covered wagon rides, model train display, state flag display and a craft/flea market. There will also be a trick roping performance by Joan Wells, Women's World Champion Trick Roper. There will even be a children's turtle race at 10 am!
T-shirts will be on sale to commemorate the event.
7 AM--Biscuits & Gravy at the Masonic Lodge
9 AM--Craft/Flea Market opens and games outside
10 AM--Turtle race
10:30 AM--Fishing pole casting contest
11 AM--Dill pickle eating contest
11:30 AM--Tin can toss
12:30 PM--Dipper race
1 PM--Rope spinning demonstration (Joan Wells)
1:30 PM--Husband and wife calling contest
4 PM--Community dinner at Mayetta Christian Church
7-11 PM--Mayetta Fire Department hosts street dance on Main St. for $5 per person or $8 per couple
