State Powerlifting Meet

The state powerlifting meet was held in Abilene last weekend. The team competed hard and we had many state champions and state placers at the meet.
Junior Aaron Blevins (156) - State Champion Bench (250 lbs)
Junior Dallas Conner (156) - State Runner-up Clean (245 lbs)
Junior Ramzey Ingles (181) - State Runner-up Bench (245 lbs)
Junior Maggie Stithem (132) - Third Place Bench (105 lbs), Third Place Clean (135 lbs) Maggie tied her own school weight class record in the clean.
Junior Madison Hoover (165) - Third Place Clean (145 lbs)
Junior Kira Vega (165) - State Runner-up Clean (150 lbs) Kira broke her own school weight class record.
"I thought our kids competed very well and represented Royal Valley in a professional manner," stated Coach Grider.
Senior Ashley Ribelin (140) - State Champion Bench (130 lbs.), State Champion Squat (290 lbs), State Champion Clean (170 lbs), Overall State Champion (585 lbs.).
Ashley tied the state record in the clean & the Squat. She broke the state reocrd in the overall weight. Ashley also finishes her career as the 4 time state champion in the squat. She is the two time defending state champion in the overall, never losing a meet in the last two season. She was named the outstanding lightweight lifter of the state meet the last two years and won the award at every meet she entered the last two years.
"The meet was very intense. I went into it hoping I would break some records, and I did!" exclaimed Ashley Ribelin.
