Topeka Roadrunners Visit Rescheduled
by Mercedes Hennis
March 02, 2010
The Topeka Roadrunners will be coming to read to the children again this year. They were suppose to come Monday, February 22nd, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. but do to weather, they have rescheduled it to April 12th at 9:30 a.m.
There will only be ten players coming this year so we will have to have a little larger groups. We will have the Kindergarten all meet in Mrs. Burdiek's classroom. Second graders will meet in Mrs. Hale's classroom. Third Graders will meet in the CLC room that PAT is not using. Fourth Graders will meet in the music room. There will be two Roadrunner players per grade level reading to the students.
The teachers can pick out the books they think their students would enjoy having read to them. If there are books in the library that you know your students would enjoy having read to them just let Mrs. Koch know and she will pull them for you.
Also, the kids will receive a bookmark that day from the Roadrunners and if they read five books and have them initialed by their teacher (on the back of the bookmark) they will receive a free Cold Stone Creamery ice cream on their next visit.
