March Madness

by Ben Harrison

March 02, 2010

Coming up is March Madness, one of the most exciting and jam-packed times of year where 64 of the best basketball teams come together to play for a chance at  that "One Shining Moment" to become the NCAA Div. I National Champions. Right now teams are finishing up their regular seasons and  getting ready for the Tournament.

Two of Kansas' Div. I Colleges are ranked in the Top 5: Kansas State #5 and Kansas #2. Both teams are predicted to go far in the Tournament and both have a chance to win the championship.

Kansas right know is holding first place in the Big 12 with a 13-1 record with Kansas State not far behind with a 11-3 record. They both have two games left in conference play with Kansas playing Kansas State on Wednesday at home and then Missouri away on Saturday. Kansas State plays at Kansas on Wednesday and then on Saturday at home against Iowa State.

When asked about Kansas State Cody Barger stated, "I believe Kansas State has a good chance and even believe they will win it all."

And when asked about Kansas' opportunity in the tournament, Caleb Barger said, "Last time Kansas lost against Oklahoma State, they went all the way and won the Championship, so I am excited to see if they can do it again."

Kansas has only one loss in the Big 12, which happened last Saturday in an upset loss against the Cowboys of Oklahoma state. All in all there are some mighty good times getting ready for the tournament. Only time will tell who will become the next Div. I National Champions.
