7th/8th Eligibility on End-of-Year Field Trips    : 7th and 8th grade students are required to maintain the published expectations and criteria in order to maintain eligibility for these field trips. 7th and 8th grade students who are not qualified or are not eligible for these trips should remain home on May 15th, this Thursday; there will be no 7th/8th classes in session on May 15th. The 7th and 8th grade teacher teams will notify disqualified students and/or parents if the criteria for eligibility was not maintained by a particular student. The student eligibility criteria for the 7th/8th grade field trips was earlier published, and the criteria for eligibility runs from March 24th to May9th for 8th grade and from April 18th to May 14th for 7th grade.

Likewise, it is understood that some 7th and 8th grade students may simply chose not to attend the 7th or 8th field trip and will remain at home on May 15th.

Students will be expected to maintain and follow the school dress code on these field trips. If a student violates the known dress code, he/she will call his parents and either acquire acceptable clothes or return home with their parents on May 15th.

The RVMS History Fair on May 9th:  :  If you attended this year's history fair, it was quite apparent that the history fair reflected a tremendous amount of work on the part of Mrs. Bausch and the 6th grade students and Mr. McAlister and the 7th/8th grade students. We thank all the parents and patrons who took time to attend and view the numerous exhibits and demonstrations which were related to American history and world history. If you missed this event, you missed some very interesting exhibits and explanations of historical events and historical figures.

Mrs. Bausch, Mr. McAlister, and the 6th-8th students in social studies classes are congratulated on a great job that they accomplished with this annual event.

Enrollment Forms for the 5th-8th PHAT Summer Program:        Pre-enrollment forms were due on April 18th. If a parent wishes their student to attend the PHAT summer program, the student's application will still be accepted if it is immediately submitted to the RVMS office or to the RVES office.

Overdue  Notices from Library: : Students should have submitted all of their books by May 9th. Students should resolve their outstanding accounts and missing books with the librarian as soon as possible.

Outstanding Students Accounts:   All students must resolve ALL of their outstanding accounts and/or book damage before the last day of school, May 21st. A student's grades and other records will not be fully processed or finalized at the end of the school year until all outstanding accounts have been resolved and paid in full.

8th Grade Promotion and Preparations for the Event: If an 8th grade student knows that he/she will not be attending the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony on May 20th, the student should contact the principal so appropriate planning can occur for this event.

An 8th grade student will NOT be required to attend classes on May 20th, a Tues., or on May 21st, the last day of the school term, if the 8th grade student has completed all of his/her requirements for classroom and for the building. However, if a student's class work is not completed, RVMS instructors can require an 8th grade student to attend school on May 20th and/or on May 21st.

Students Should Leave Possessions at Home:    Students should leave all personal possessions at home. The school will not be responsible for personal possessions (cell phones, MP3players, I-Pods, other electronics, and personal items) which are lost, misplaced, stolen, or missing.
